Cantonese Speaking Home Support Worker

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cantonese Speaking Home Support Worker to provide personalized care and assistance to clients in their homes. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in senior care, disability support, or home health services, who are fluent in Cantonese and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those in need. Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  Administer medications following care plans and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions for any changes or concerns
  Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
• Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or memory care needs by implementing personalized care strategies
• Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting relationship with clients and their families
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures
• Document patient progress accurately and report any significant observations or incidents

Experience

• Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments preferred
• Group home experience or working with people with developmental disabilities highly valued
• Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism spectrum disorder, and other cognitive or developmental conditions
• Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and patient monitoring techniques
• Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information
• Hands-on caregiving experience involving assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, and resident care plans
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work effectively in physically demanding situations
• Prior nursing home or senior care experience is advantageous but not mandatory for qualified candidates willing to learn
• This role requires excellent communication skills in Cantonese, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals in their daily lives. Candidates must be reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to providing high-quality home support services.
